Olayan Descon provides a complete range of manufacturing services starting from Design up to Delivery, for equipment like Pressure Vessels and Columns, The Design, Detailed Engineering, Preparation of shop fabrication drawings and as built drawings, is accomplished on AutoCAD using latest available software. Materials including plates, dished ends, fittings and consumables are procured through approved vendors in local as well as overseas markets of Europe, Far East and US. All fabrication processes including marking, cutting, rolling, bending and welding are carried out in-house, Hydro-testing, Pneumatic testing, Magnetic particle testing, dye penetrate testing and localized post weld heat treatment is also carried out through experienced quality assurance and control team within the company. Surface preparation, garnet blasting and painting service are also available in-house.
Services of approved & specialized companies are hired for Radiography and Stress relieving of complete equipment. Pressure Vessels and Columns are manufactured as per ASME VIII Div I & II. U-stamp and third party inspection is also provided for ASME coded equipment. A long list of qualified procedures is available as per AWS & ASME Sec. IX for Manual, SMAW & GTAW and for various types of ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy materials including all grades of Carbon steel and Stainless steel. Our welders are also qualified for P-1, P-4, P-5, P-6, P-8, P-31, P-45, and P-51 materials. In addition, modern automatic Submerged Arc Welding machines, plasma and flame cutting machines are installed for precise and heavy requirements. In accordance with ASME, TEMA, ANSI, API 660 and other relevant code and practices, Mechanical Design is carried out using BJAC and Stemec software's. Complete detailing, generation of shop fabrication & as built drawings and design documentation is executed on AutoCAD. Olayan Descon can fabricate all kinds of Exchangers like, single & multiple pass, single & multiple flow and kettle type including fixed tube sheet, Floating tube sheet, Straight & U-tube bundles and finned tube Air Coolers. Tube sheet cladding is also carried out by welding built up. Seam & deposition welding procedures (AWS designations) are adapted for various types of ferrous & non-ferrous materials including Carbon steel, Stainless steel, titanium & other Alloy steels, in combination of both for SMAW & GTAW. Tube to tube sheet joint can be executed both by Welding and Expansion. Adequate machine tools, fabrication and welding equipment including Automatic Tube-Tube Sheet Welding Machines Multi-head drilling machines, Horizontal and Vertical Boring machines, Tube cutting& bending tools, Expansion tools and all other relevant equipment are installed in our Heat Exchanger shop, to meet the quality requirements of prevailing international standards. Localized stress relieving of seam welds and U-bent portion of tubes is available in-house. Furnace facilities for the heat treatment of complete shell are availed from renowned and approved companies. Non-destructive testing (RT & UT) is also sub-contracted to local certified agencies.

Olayan Descon, with its relentless pursuit of excellence in the Manufacturing of Storage Tanks, Bins, Hoppers, Stacks and Ducts is providing services for Design & Detailed Engineering, Procurement of material, Fabrication and Installation to practically all the industries including Cement, Chemical, Petro-Chemical, Fertilizer and Oil & Gas.
For Storage Tanks designing, Tritank-620 & E-Tank software is used. Complete detailing and shop fabrication drawings, including components, are accomplished on AutoCAD as per ASME, API 620, API 650 and other relevant codes & practices. For Field Erected equipment, material is also pre-fabricated, including rolling of plates at our fabrication shop and transportation to site for erection. Qualified welders, experienced riggers and fitters are deputed for site installation work. All necessary equipment, welding machines, cranes, containers for site offices, etc. are also available with us to mobilize at site for long and short duration of time.
Right from design to installation, quality control & assurance procedures are incorporated for traceability of all materials and consumables. Qualified welding procedures are adopted as per AWS D1.1 or as per client specifications for Manual, SMAW & GTAW. Non-Destructive Testing procedures are strictly adhered to achieve highest degree of fabrication standards. We have a capacity to fabricate and install more than 600 tons of similar equipment per month.
As part of its diversified services provided to Refineries, Petrochemical and Chemical industries, Olayan Descon offers fabrication services for Flare Stack Tips required either as new or as replacement for damaged flare stack tips due to combustion of purge gases. Low & High-pressure piping and Process piping is one of the main activities where Olayan Descon has established an impressive track record. Olayan Descon provides a wide array of services ranging from Minor Modification to Turnkey Process Piping Networks within plant or plant-to-plant. Olayan Descon has been authorized by ASME to fabricate Pressure Piping & Power Piping under "PP" Stamp. All services are offered through experienced piping engineers, skilled fabricators, and qualified welders. Process piping projects are carried out in accordance with recognized international Standards (i.e. ANSI B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, etc.) and client specifications. Olayan Descon’s facility is outfitted with all types of equipment for fabrication, welding, stress relieving, pipe bending (up to Ø 4" NPS) and other relevant activities. Large diameter pipes are also fabricated from rolled plates. Automatic Submerged Arc welding machines are installed for seam & circumferential welding. All piping networks can be Site or Shop Fabricated in transportable spool and erected at site. Welding procedures are prepared as a part of quality control procedures. Hydrostatic, Pneumatic, and Non-Destructive Testing is carried out both at shop as well as at site. Chemical cleaning, hot tapping and insulation services are provided through qualified and approved companies. Design facility is also available for pipe support and pipe routing. Complete P&ID's, piping plans, isometrics, and spool drawings are prepared on AutoCAD. Associated Civil and Structural work including pipe supports, foundations, sleepers, and underground sleeves, are designed and constructed according to applicable codes. Olayan Descon also carries out installation and testing of Cathodic Protection system for underground process piping. Cathodic protection system is designed by approved third parties. For underground process piping, Coating and Wrapping is also carried out. Surface preparation by internal and external sand/girt blasting and Painting facilities according to user specifications are also available.
